New eating option coming to downtown Spokane July 3

SPOKANE, Wash. - Downtown Spokane will soon offer a new option for hungry diners on the go. Beginning July 3, Barry Dogs will set up shop on the corner of W. Riverside Avenue and N. Howard Street in front of the Bank of America Plaza.

“I’m excited to add to the atmosphere downtown,” said Barry Dogs owner and longtime Spokane resident Barry Seward. “Being at the Bank of America Plaza will allow business people to stop by for an inexpensive lunch. That location is also very close to the Spokane Transit Authority Plaza, so anyone riding the bus can stop and get a quick meal.”

Seward has lived in Spokane on-and-off for three decades, first moving to the area after graduating from high school in 1987. His love of hot dogs dates much further back.

“My parents tell the story of how I loved hot dogs so much that when I was about four years old, I could eat a whole package of hot dogs by myself,” he said. “Last year, I even won a hot dog eating contest. So, I created my dream job selling hot dogs and sausages, because I know there are plenty of people who love them as much as I do.”

Along with all beef hot dogs and specialty sausages, customers can create a combo with chips and soft drinks for as little as $3.99. Barry Dogs will also offer a large array of free condiments.

“I love this community, and I can’t wait to share lunch with Spokane,” Seward said. “I’m excited to see longtime friends and make many new friends.”

Barry Dogs will be open weekdays from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 601 W. Riverside Avenue. More information is available at barrydogs.com, or by following BarryDogs on Facebook or @barrydogsusa on Twitter.
